OptiLIGHT by Lumenis is the first and only intense pulsed light (IPL) technology FDA-approved for the management of dry eye disease (DED) due to Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Designed to enhance patient outcomes and elevate the standard of care, OptiLIGHT offers a safe, effective, and non-invasive approach to managing one of the most common ocular conditions.

What it's like During the treatment, your doctor will:
  • Apply a coupling gel to the treatment area
  • Cover your eyes with shields
  • Apply light to the skin, which may feel warm and cause a bright flash
How long it takes
The treatment itself usually takes 10–15 minutes.

What to expect after
You may experience some redness around the treatment area, but it should fade. You should also wear sunscreen daily around the treated area for two weeks after the treatment.

OptiLIGHT is not recommended for people who: Have aqueous deficiency dry eye, Have a history of keloid scarring, and Have severe scarring around their eyes.
